Summer Camp- 2015 "Fairy Tales"
During summer camp my third graders read a variety of different fairy tales from around the world. Together we learned about the elements of a good story including setting and character, plot development, and conflict and resolution. The students enjoyed reading the authentic literature and worked towards writing and illustrating their own fairy tales, which they presented at the end of summer camp.
7th Grade Literature Arts
After reading Wonder by R.J. Palacio, the students participated in the 1-2-3 Wonder Campaign. They created posters for the following questions: (One Word) What word best describes Via? (2 words) If you were Auggie, what would you have done if you overheard Jack Will on Halloween? (3 words) What makes it so difficult to accept people who look different? (3 words) What is one area of your life where you need to choose kind?
