Conversation and Reading Club 2016
In today's lesson, students followed step-by-step verbal directions to fold their own paper Yoda. They also worked in pairs to decide if Origami Yoda gave good advice in the chapters read that lesson. Last they paticipated in a collaborative reasoning discussion.
In today's lesson, students made predictions and built background knowledge about the dance "The Twist." They also read strange scenarios about the main character, Dwight, and tried to understand why he would act in that particular way. Last they participated in a CR discussion with a focus on turn-taking.
In today's lesson, students tried to understand Yoda's advice to Cassie by creating a Play-Doh bust of one of the main characters in the novel. They used this activity to review character traits for their chosen character. Students also participated in a collaborative reasoning discussion with a focus on equal participation.
In today's lesson, students built background knowledge of topics in the novel by participating in a spelling bee. They reviewed key concepts and ideas to prepare them for the collaborative reasoning discussion. And they participated in a CR discussion with a focus on asking questions.
